Methodology
A credible decision standard should examine at least five distinct questions.
01
Capability
Can the individual credibly succeed in the role?
02
Trajectory
Does the opportunity improve the longer-term career path and future optionality?
03
Personal alignment
Does it fit the person's priorities, constraints, motivations, and life?
Candidate-side only — never included in a Match Brief
04
Opportunity quality
Is the mandate, environment, authority, leadership, and organizational context attractive and credible?
05
Transition risk
What could fail, what would be displaced, and how recoverable is the move?
Candidate-side only — never included in a Match Brief
What reaches the other side of the table
The full five-domain standard is examined with the candidate. The Match Brief itself surfaces only the employer-relevant subset. Two of the five domains—personal alignment and transition risk—are candidate-side only: they inform the candidate’s own decision and are never exposed to the employer in a Match Brief. Nothing personal, and nothing about the candidate’s risks, crosses that line.
